The Oneonta Redskins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell just short of Ashville by a score of 39-36. The game was a 20-20 toss-up at halftime, but Oneonta couldn't quite close it out.
Oneonta's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Annsley Aguirre, who scored 12 points along with seven steals. Aguirre has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Zion Dilliapree was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Oneonta's loss dropped their record down to 9-19. As for Ashville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season.
Oneonta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ashville also has no future games currently scheduled.
