The Moberly Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 69-68 to Fulton. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Moberly's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cameron Doubrava, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Bivins, who scored 12 points along with five assists.
Even though they lost, Moberly smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Moberly has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Fulton, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-11.
Moberly on the road again on Tuesday and play against Kirksville at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Fulton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Blair Oaks on Tuesday.
