On Monday, East Valley Athletes for Christ came up short against the Warriors and fell 55-48.
Meanwhile, Imagine Prep can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They blew past Skyline Prep, posting a 77-33 win on the road. Given Imagine Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Bengals are ranked 211th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Imagine Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Richard Rodriguez, who scored 21 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rodriguez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Heuseveldt, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.
East Valley Athletes for Christ's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Imagine Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 18-2.
East Valley Athletes for Christ came up short against the Storm in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 56-46. Can East Valley Athletes for Christ avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
