Meanwhile, Mendez's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell 68-56 to Roybal. Mendez has struggled against Roybal recently, as their contest on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Belmont's defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-14. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.0 points per game. As for Mendez, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
