The Southeastern RVT Hawks will head out on the road to take on the Bristol-Plymouth RVT Craftsmen at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Southeastern RVT is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Southeastern RVT is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Diman RVT just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Bengals by a score of 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Hawks have suffered since April 9th.

Becca Hornung was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and five unearned) runs off 11 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Abby Spencer was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Cienna Maldonado was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Bristol-Plymouth RVT nor Tri-County RVT made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Craftsmen fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 5-3. It was the first time this season that the Craftsmen let down their fans at home.
Gabrianna Arrighi spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 13 Ks.
At the plate, Shelby Estrella made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Another player making a difference was Bree Aldrich, who went 2-for-5 with two runs.
Southeastern RVT's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-3. As for Bristol-Plymouth RVT, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 10-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Southeastern RVT has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Bristol-Plymouth RVT struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Southeastern RVT came out on top in a nail-biter against Bristol-Plymouth RVT in their previous matchup last Monday, sneaking past 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
