The Hoops for Christ Warriors are on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Classen SAS Comets at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Hoops for Christ will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 399th, while the Comets are ranked 25th).
Last Friday, Hoops for Christ came up short against the Warriors and fell 49-39.
Meanwhile, Classen SAS waltzed into their match on Friday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They breezed by Star-Spencer at home to the tune of 77-39. Classen SAS pushed the score to 68-27 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bobcats cut but never quite recovered from.
Classen SAS's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kamyiah Morgan, who scored 17 points, and Skylar Durley, who scored 22 points along with two steals. Durley continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last six games she's played. Paige Williams was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Hoops for Christ's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Classen SAS, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
Hoops for Christ was dealt a bruising 69-11 loss at the hands of the Comets when the teams last played back in December of 2018. Thankfully for Hoops for Christ, Darianna Littlepage-buggs (who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
