Whitharral has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Whiteface Antelopes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Whitharral put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 71-40 win over Anton at home. Given Whitharral's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 613th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 1449th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Whitharral got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nathaniel Sansom out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Sansom is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nomar Gomez, who scored 19 points.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Whiteface at home against the Bulldogs back in January as the team secured a 66-9 win. That looming 66-9 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Whiteface yet this season.
Whitharral is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Whiteface, their victory bumped their record up to 5-10.
Whitharral was able to grind out a solid victory over the Antelopes in their previous meeting back in January, winning 45-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Whitharral since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
