Montague came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Fremont Packers by a score of 10-7. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-0 on Tuesday.

Bryton Belinger made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That stolen base was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Robbie Smith and Fletcher Thommen did most of the damage at the plate: Smith got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, while Thommen went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That run marked the first that Thommen has scored this season. Another player making a difference was Jack Degan, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Montague was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Montague now has a winning record of 5-4-1. As for Fremont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Montague will venture away from home to square off against Grant at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fremont, they will head out to face off against Niles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
