Softball Recap: Tawas Area Has No Trouble Against Alcona

After losing to Alcona the last time they met, Tawas Area decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Braves put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 11-1 win on Tuesday. The Braves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by seven runs or more this season.

Tawas Area got a big performance out of Ellary Warner, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits Warner has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Rowan Davis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Tawas Area and bumps their season record up to 9-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Alcona, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Tawas Area will take on Houghton Lake at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Alcona, they will face off against Oscoda at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
