The Chambers Academy Rebels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 49-35 to Edgewood Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Chambers Academy has scored all season.
Edgewood Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brock Whitt led the charge by scoring 11 points along with nine rebounds. Johnny Groves was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Chambers Academy bumped their record down to 1-4 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Edgewood Academy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-8.
Chambers Academy will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Hooper Academy at 2:30 p.m. on December 28th. Hooper Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games. Edgewood Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Macon-East Montgomery Academy at 3:00 p.m. on December 19th.
