Placer (Auburn, Calif.) had a big 41-point first quarter on Saturday, sealing a 68-14 victory over Foothill (Sacramento, Calif.).
The Hillmen scored on a
Isaac Brahce touchdown run, a touchdown run by
Michael Robinson, a
Peter Denham touchdown pass to
Stone Sander, a touchdown pass by Denham to Brahce, a
Todd Valliere touchdown run and a defensive touchdown in the quarter.
Placer was up 61-0 at the half after taking the lead on a Brahce touchdown run in the first quarter.
With the win PHS extended its winning streak to six games. The Auburn school defeated the Timberwolves 54-14 last week.
The Mustangs' Dillon Paris played well. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns. His performance brought his touchdown total to four on the year.
The Hillmen's most effective player was Denham. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.
Led by
Eddie Vanderdoes, Placer came in allowing an average of 22.4 points per game this season. PHS held firm on the defensive front, and kept Foothill right around the 11.8 points it had been averaging per game.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Hillmen came away with a 56-14 victory.
The loss comes after Foothill defeated Natomas 33-27 last week.
Placer (6-0) will play a Pioneer Valley game against Bear River next week, while Foothill (1-5) will take on Lincoln also in a Pioneer Valley game.
