Triton Central has gone 9-1 against Indianapolis Lutheran recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Triton Central came out on top against Morristown on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run first inning. The Tigers blew past the Yellow Jackets 14-2. Considering the Tigers have won ten matches by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Kaleb Murphy looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Bo West was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Kellan Dishman was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Triton Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .353 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Decatur Central hit Indianapolis Lutheran with a four-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Saints lost 12-2 to the Hawks. The Saints' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Indianapolis Lutheran saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dax Lockliear, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Triton Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Indianapolis Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Triton Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .359. However, it's not like Indianapolis Lutheran struggles in that department as they've averaged .316. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
