Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Sumter

Sumter won the last time they faced Crestwood, and Araina Ross did her part to make sure it happened again. The Sumter Gamecocks walked away with a 44-36 victory over the Crestwood Knights on Tuesday thanks in part to Ross, who posted 21 points and five rebounds. The contest was her fifth in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Jailyn Williams, who had four points in addition to 12 rebounds and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last three times she's played.

Despite the loss, Crestwood still got an impressive performance from Saniya Williams, who put up 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of London Vaughn, who posted seven points along with six boards and five assists.

The win made it two in a row for Sumter and bumps their season record up to 3-2. As for Crestwood, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Sumter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 37-29 victory against Lakewood on the 14th. As for Crestwood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 57-52 defeat against Dillon on the 11th.
