Softball Recap: Enterprise Wins Going Away Against New Hope

After losing to New Hope the last time they met, Enterprise decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Enterprise Bulldogs were the clear victor by a 13-2 margin over the New Hope Trojans on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Meredith Dearman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Saylee Perry was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Anna Herrington was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Enterprise was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .459. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Hope only posted a batting average of .120.

Enterprise now has a winning record of 7-6. As for New Hope, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Enterprise will welcome Kemper County at 6:30 p.m. on March 18th. As for New Hope, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Picayune at 3:15 p.m.
