Warner has been on the road for five straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Calexico Mission RoadRunners at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Warner focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
Last Friday, Warner was able to grind out a solid win over Borrego Springs, taking the game 46-33.
Warner's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Omar Acosta led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. David Calac was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Calexico Mission came up short against Borrego Springs on Tuesday and fell 50-39.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Leonardo Longino, who scored 15 points. That was a full 38.5% of Calexico Mission's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sergio Jacobo, who scored 11 points.
Warner now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Calexico Mission, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Warner took their win against Calexico Mission in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 72-46. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Longino, who scored 26 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Warner still be able to contain him?
