Softball Recap: Beech Grove Has No Trouble Against Indianapolis Scecina Memorial

Beech Grove's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 26-1 margin over the Indianapolis Scecina Memorial Crusaders. The Hornets have beaten the Crusaders the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Crusaders has come to flipping the script.

Nola Alford made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mylee Boling, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and five RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Harper Moore was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.
