The Antlers Bearcats can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 54-51 victory over Tushka. The victory was just what Antlers needed coming off of a 73-38 defeat in their prior game.
When it comes to explaining why Tushka lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tagen Simon. Despite the final result, he scored 29 points along with six assists and six rebounds. That was a full 56.9% of Tushka's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Gregory, who scored eight points.
Antlers' victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Tushka, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-13.
Antlers won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. The timing is sure in Haworth's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Bearcats have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. As for Tushka, they will take on the Golden Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Talihina focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Saturday.
