The Craigmont Chiefs will head out on the road to face off against the Power Center Academy Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Craigmont couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a serious blow against Middle College on Tuesday, falling 71-28.
Meanwhile, the matchup between Power Center Academy and Freedom Prep Academy on Monday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. Power Center Academy breezed by Freedom Prep Academy on the road to the tune of 74-43.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Power Center Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marquis Tunstall, who scored 21 points along with 7 steals and 5 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Nazir Allen, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Craigmont's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Power Center Academy, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Craigmont was taken down by Power Center Academy 60-20 when the teams last played back in November of 2021. Can Craigmont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
