After flying high against the Ellis Railroaders last Friday, the Norton Bluejays came back down to earth. Norton took a 59-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles on Tuesday. Norton has struggled against the Eagles recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Norton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eli Jones, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. Jones is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Rylen Murray, who scored 20 points.
Norton's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3. As for Colby, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
Norton will head out on the road to square off against the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Colby, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
