The North Central Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They secured a 74-70 W over Pendleton Heights. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
North Central can attribute much of their success to Gabrielle Burrus, who scored 25 points along with five assists and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burrus has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiden Kreinhagen, who scored 20 points along with two steals.
Several Arabians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaycie Warfel, who scored 27 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That was a full 38.6% of Pendleton Heights' points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Olivia Jones, who scored 16 points along with five assists and two steals.
North Central's win bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Pendleton Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 14-8.
North Central will head out on the road to take on Warren Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Warren Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Saturday. As for Pendleton Heights, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Noblesville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Noblesville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully Pendleton Heights likes a good challenge.
