Columbia City has gone 9-1 against New Haven recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Eagles will head out to challenge the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Columbia City has three straight wins, New Haven has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Monday, Columbia City earned a 7-2 victory over DeKalb.
Emma Hiss made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kendyl Sattison, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hanna Maggard, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Columbia City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive games.
Meanwhile, New Haven came up short against Fort Wayne Bishop Luers on Tuesday and fell 12-7.
Cassidy Johnson and Rakiya Jackson-Totton did some serious damage despite the final result: Johnson went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Jackson-Totton went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Samantha Thompson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
New Haven's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Columbia City, their record is now 12-3.
New Haven's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Columbia City has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.6 hits per game. It's a different story for New Haven, though, as they've been averaging 11.6 hits. Given Columbia City's sizable advantage in that area, the Bulldogs will need to find a way to close that gap.
