Diamond Ranch extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 5-13. They came up short against the Ontario Jaguars, falling 10-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 back in March.
Isabella ?Belly? Flores (Captain) 2026 spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and seven unearned) runs on 11 hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Olivia Jauregui (Captain) 2026 and Amy Carlos 2029 did some serious damage despite the final result: Jauregui (Captain) 2026 went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Carlos 2029 went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.
As for Ontario, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-7. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
On Ontario's side, Melanie Carrillo made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Carrillo was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Navey Lopez, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. Maribel Arenas was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Ontario beat Diamond Ranch by a score of 15-9 on Tuesday.
