The Mission Bears will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory Fightin' Irish at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Mission will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1236th, while Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory is ranked 243rd).
Last Wednesday, Mission was the victim of a tough 73-49 defeat at the hands of The Academy - San Francisco.
Meanwhile, Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory didn't have too much trouble with Terra Nova on the road on Tuesday as they won 51-33.
Fedrick Pernell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists. The match was his eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jonah Goorin, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Mission's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 0-3. As for Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Mission came up short against Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory when the teams last played back in December of 2019, falling 75-71. Can Mission avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
