The California Trojans suffered their biggest loss since December 18, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Carrick 72-42. California was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Carrick apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
California lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jahiem Derns, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Jacob Ziolecki, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
California's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Carrick, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-9.
California will face off against West Greene at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully West Greene focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday. As for Carrick, Carrick and Perry Traditional Academy will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
