Washington faced Scott in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Patriots put the hurt on the Skyhawks with a sharp 8-2 victory. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by six runs or more this season.

Chloe Constantino spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on 13 hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Carly Constantino, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Kalyn Dean also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Washington's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Scott, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.
