Shawnee Mission South faced Shawnee Mission Northwest in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over the Cougars. Considering Shawnee Mission South have won five contests by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Shawnee Mission South pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those three matches. As for Shawnee Mission Northwest, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 1-1-1 and their overall record down to 3-2-1.
