The Winnfield Tigers only won by three when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 23-point they dealt the Many Tigers on Tuesday. Winnfield put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 68-45 win. Given Winnfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Tigers are ranked 305th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Cl Davis, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Decavian Duncan, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Winnfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Many, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.
Winnfield won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. As for Many, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakeview knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully the Tigers likes a good challenge.
