Having just played yesterday, the Schuylerville Horses will get right back to it and host the Corinth Riverhawks at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. Schuylerville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 368th, while Corinth is ranked 180th).
Schuylerville suffered their biggest loss since December 21, 2023 on Thursday. Their rough 55-31 loss to Glens Falls might stick with them for a while. Schuylerville has struggled against Glens Falls recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Corinth had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.2 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Monday. They took down Fonda-Fultonville 44-30.
Schuylerville has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Corinth, their victory was their 14th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1.
Things could have been worse for Schuylerville, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 50-36 loss to Corinth in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Schuylerville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
