It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Strathmore had no problem doing just that  on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the California City Ravens  3-2. The Spartans are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 13 straight.
 Strathmore had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 22-25, 25-8, 25-15,  16-14.
 Hannah Jones paced Strathmore's offense, picking up 16 kills. Jones got some help from  Pearl Johnson and her 36 assists. Johnson also made an impact serving:  she shared the team lead in aces with  Allisson Hernandez, each putting up five.
Strathmore's victory bumped their record up to 25-7. As for California City, their loss dropped their record down to 19-17-1.
 Looking ahead, Strathmore will be playing at home against Morro Bay  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. California City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
