The Kutztown Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. Their tough 71-50 defeat to North Schuylkill might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Kutztown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 632nd, while North Schuylkill is ranked 288th).
North Schuylkill had a senior duo take command as Jack Keiter scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and five assists and Zane Zulkowski scored 28 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Zulkowski has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of jude maziekas, who scored six points.
Kutztown has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for North Schuylkill, their win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kutztown will face off against Brandywine Heights Area at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Schuylkill on the road again on Tuesday and play against Pine Grove at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
