McPherson and Great Bend are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Bullpups will square off against the Panthers on Friday. McPherson will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
McPherson came out on top against Midwest City on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run seventh inning. The Bullpups took their matchup against the Bombers 8-3.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Great Bend and Garden City, and Great Bend kept the tradition alive. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Buffaloes on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Like McPherson, Great Bend also got a great game from a pair of two-way players: Jaxon Wondra. Throwing, Wondra struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Rafael Chavez pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Wondra went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Chavez went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Christian Alcala, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Kale Kern also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
McPherson's record is now 21-4. As for Great Bend, their record now sits at 14-7.
