Mansfield have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They will challenge West Fork on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Mansfield are cruising in on a three-game winning streak while West Fork are stumbling in off of three consecutive losses.
Mansfield ran circles around Lavaca two weeks ago, and the extra yardage (219.4 yards vs. 46.2 yards) paid off. Everything went Mansfield's way against Lavaca as the squad secured a 47-0 win. The Mansfield offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Meanwhile, it's always hard to lose, and it's even harder to lose by a single point. Just ask West Fork, the unfortunate recipient of a 30-31 defeat at the hands of Green Forest last Friday.
Mansfield's victory lifted them to 3-0 while West Fork's loss dropped them down to 0-3. In their victory, Mansfield relied heavily on junior Ethan Stovall, who threw 3 TDs and picked up 34 yards on the ground. West Fork will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
