The Springstead Eagles can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They blew past Nature Coast Tech 46-26. The win was nothing new for Springstead as they're now sitting on 11 straight.
Malanie Francis was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 23 rebounds. Francis is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Addy Osborne was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Nature Coast Tech's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isabella Castillo O, who scored nine points.
Nature Coast Tech struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Springstead racked up 12 assists.
Springstead's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. As for Nature Coast Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springstead will take on Wiregrass Ranch at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Wiregrass Ranch will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while Springstead is ranked 103rd). As for Nature Coast Tech, Nature Coast Tech and Mitchell will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
