The Hanover Hornets posted their closest win yet this season on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Kiowa and snuck past 27-25. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Hanover has scored all season.
Leading Hanover to victory were Thomas Griffin and Tyler Decker. Griffin scored two points along with six rebounds and six steals, while Decker scored ten points along with seven rebounds and six steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Decker has scored at least a third of Hanover's points.
Hanover's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Kiowa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hanover will face off against Elbert at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Elbert focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Saturday. Kiowa on the road again on Thursday and play against Genoa-Hugo/Karval at 4:00 p.m. on January 25th. Genoa-Hugo/Karval is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
