The Shenandoah Raiders lost against the Lapel Bulldogs back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Shenandoah suffered a tough 54-30 loss at the hands of Lapel. While losing is never fun, Shenandoah can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Lapel is ranked 45th).
Shenandoah's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rory McKnight, who scored five points along with three steals. McKnight hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilliana Lynch, who scored six points.
Shenandoah now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Lapel, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with that victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shenandoah will square off against Randolph Southern at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Randolph Southern focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday. As for Lapel, they will head out on the road to face off against Pendleton Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
