The Life Prep Fire had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of Ponca City by a score of 52-49. Life Prep lost against Ponca City in their previous head to head back in February of 2015, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 66-45 score last time.
Life Prep's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Laterro Young, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals, and Arthur Videira who scored 12 points along with 9 rebounds. Marcian Pickstock was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Tay Moore was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 28 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Kreisel, who scored 10 points.
Life Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Ponca City, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Life Prep will face off against Newton at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ponca City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bixby at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
