After flying high against Newport last Tuesday, Williamstown came back down to earth. The Williamstown Demons lost 9-1 to the Carroll County Panthers on Wednesday. The Demons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
Karaline Peer was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned (and eight unearned) runs off six hits. Peer was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Williamstown's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Carroll County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Williamstown will take on Ludlow at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Carroll County, they will challenge Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
