The Springdale Bulldogs's 20-9 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell 56-48 to Douglass on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Springdale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 66th in Arkansas, while Douglass is ranked 13th in Tennessee).
Douglass was led to victory by Taquez Butler and Jarmon Brittman. Butler scored 18 points, while Brittman scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds and 7 blocks. The contest was Brittman's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Thompson, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds.
Springdale's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Douglass, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Springdale will square off against Shawnee Mission Northwest at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Douglass is on the road again on Monday and play against Lakeland Preparatory at 7:30 p.m. on December 11th.
