Dade Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gabriel Alonso, who posted 22 points and five steals. Alonso is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least four every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nikola Mirkovic, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Dade Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monsignor Pace). They came out on top against Don Soffer Aventura by a score of 63-52 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Barracuda: they've now won three in a row.
Dade Christian better keep an eye on Andres Lopez. He was instrumental in Monsignor Pace's win, shooting 64% from the field on his way to 31 points and five steals. With that strong performance, Lopez is now averaging an impressive 16 points per game. Another player making a difference was Lo'Toddric Capers, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards.
Dade Christian's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Monsignor Pace, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Dade Christian has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 36 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Monsignor Pace struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Dade Christian strolled past Monsignor Pace in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a score of 58-41. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
