Oakes has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Wyndmere/Lidgerwood Warbirds at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Oakes knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Wyndmere/Lidgerwood likes a good challenge.
Oakes posted their biggest win yet this season on Saturday. They breezed by Maple River at home to the tune of 62-35. 62 seems to be a good number for Oakes as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, Wyndmere/Lidgerwood's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell 51-42 to Richland.
The win got Oakes back to even at 6-6. As for Wyndmere/Lidgerwood, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
Oakes came up short against Wyndmere/Lidgerwood in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 46-37. Can Oakes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
