With a playoff game on the line, the South Decatur Cougars rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lancers 50-21 on the road. South Decatur has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Makalya Somers continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 17 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kiley Best, who scored nine points along with four steals.
South Decatur is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season. As for Edinburgh, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-23.
South Decatur is on the road again on Friday and plays the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Jac-Cen-Del presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Cougars in Indiana (the Eagles are ranked 104th, while the Cougars are ranked 211th). Edinburgh does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
