Tunkhannock has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Trinity Shamrocks at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Tunkhannock will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 628th, while Trinity is ranked 98th).
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Tunkhannock, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-37 loss to Pittston.
Meanwhile, even though Susquehanna Township scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, Trinity still came out on top. Trinity took their game against Susquehanna Township 62-55. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Trinity.
It was another big night for Owen Schlager, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Andre Steele, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Tunkhannock's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Trinity, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
Tunkhannock beat Trinity 65-57 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Trinity's Adelphe Cisse, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be that much easier for Tunkhannock to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
