The Wickenburg Wranglers are taking a road trip to take on the Chino Valley Cougars at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Wickenburg will be strutting in after a victory while Chino Valley will be coming in after a loss.
Wickenburg is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Mountainside on Wednesday as they made off with a 29-4 win. The Wranglers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by 12 runs or more this season.
Sydney Anderson made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brynlee Meister, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Molly Melfi also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Wickenburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .921. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Chino Valley couldn't beat ALA - West Foothills on Wednesday even though they stacked eight runs on them in the second inning. The Cougars fell just short of the Guardians by a score of 9-8.
Maleah Garcia and Rebecca Sanders did some serious damage despite the final result: Garcia went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double, while Sanders went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Kira Seets was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Wickenburg's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-11. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Chino Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Wickenburg hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .393. However, it's not like Chino Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .315. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Wickenburg took their victory against Chino Valley in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 7-1 score. Will the Wranglers repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
