The Killian Hill Christian Cougars can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They had just enough and edged Old Suwanee Christian out 61-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Killian Hill Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emory Berry, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and ten rebounds. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which Berry has scored at least 25% of Killian Hill Christian's points. Hawthorne Herring was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 22 rebounds.
Old Suwanee Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Devin Courtney, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds. The matchup was Courtney's 15th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was John Barr, who scored 13 points.
Even though they lost, Old Suwanee Christian were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Killian Hill Christian only pulled down 25 offensive rebounds.
Killian Hill Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Old Suwanee Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Killian Hill Christian will take on Fideles Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Fideles Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Old Suwanee Christian, they will be playing at home against Friendship Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Friendship Christian is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
