The Tuscarora Titans on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Manchester Valley Mavericks at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Tuscarora focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday.
Last Friday, Tuscarora didn't have too much trouble with North Hagerstown on the road as they won 65-47.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tuscarora to victory, but perhaps none more so than Laney Barton, who scored 27 points along with seven steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Barton has scored at least a third of Tuscarora's points. Skylar Davis was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three blocks and two steals.
Meanwhile, Manchester Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Francis Scott Key by a score of 54-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Manchester Valley has suffered yet this season.
Tuscarora's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Manchester Valley, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-5.
Tuscarora suffered a grim 63-37 defeat to Manchester Valley in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Tuscarora was down 34-12.
