The biggest upset of the week belonged to Whittier, who took down 518th ranked Whittier, 14-7.
Pioneer moved up to 710 from 767 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Del Rio. The Titans climbed the ranks as a result of defeating the Cardinals 14-7.
La Serna's dynamic duo of Frankie Palmer and Matthew Rosales proved tough for El Rancho to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Palmer threw for 170 yards and three touchdowns and Rosales had 90 yards receiving. John McFarland helped La Serna's passing attack out by catching two balls for 27 yards.
Christian Lara provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Santa Fe beat California. He completed nine passes for 111 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 138 yards. Lara's favorite target this week was Justin Retiz, who caught three passes for 57 yards.
5-foot-10 quarterback Palmer of the Lancers is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1188. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. On the ground, the Dons' JOE SANCHEZ has rushed for 951 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is JAVIER CARILLO. The El Rancho star has 32 catches for 437 yards.
El Rancho's SANCHEZ needs only 49 yards against Pioneer next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when La Serna takes on the Chiefs. Margarito Beltran's team is in first place, while Santa Fe is in third place.
The Lancers took down Vinnie Lopez's team 67-33 last week, the largest margin of any game. Palmer ran for 29 yards in the win.
