Lexington has gone 9-1 against Dutch Fork recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Wildcats will square off against the Silver Foxes at 5:30 p.m. Lexington will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Lexington made easy work of Chapin and carried off a 9-3 victory. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Dutch Fork hadn't done well against White Knoll recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Silver Foxes came out on top in a nail-biter against the Timberwolves, sneaking past 5-3. The win continues a trend for the Silver Foxes in their matchups with the Timberwolves: they've now won three in a row.

Layla Peppers was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Peppers was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia Hill, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and one RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Katie-Grace Hill also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Lexington's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Dutch Fork, their record now sits at 6-9.

Lexington took their victory against Dutch Fork in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 16-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
