AA Piedmont recap Oct. 30, 2012
Magna Vista extended the longest winning streak in AA Piedmont this week by beating Martinsville, 35-6. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Warriors.
Tunstall made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,646 from 4,828. The advance stemmed from a 32-13 victory over Chatham last week.
The Trojans' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Chris Buckner threw for 111 and two touchdowns and Dustin Kuczinski had 39 yards receiving. On the ground Jacob Barnette chipped in 150 yards. Brad Hylton helped Tunstall's passing attack out by catching one ball for 26 yards.
Tunstall's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Trojans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Buckner has thrown for 1152 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, while Damien Wilson has 19 catches for 296 yards. Barnette leads the league in rushing with 887 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Bassett takes on Magna Vista. The Bengals are currently in third, while Joe Favero's team is in first.
