Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Pope County Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday.
Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton suffered their biggest loss since December 27, 2023 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 61-31 loss at the hands of Pope County. Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton has struggled against Pope County recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Ashlyn Stayton, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brittany Hall, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season. As for Pope County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 20-2.
Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton was dealt a bruising 61-31 defeat at the hands of Pope County when the teams last played on Tuesday. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton was down 34-12.
