It's playoff time, and Churchill County had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 13-8 victory over the Lowry Buckaroos on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Greenwave as they're now sitting on six straight.
Janessa Bettencourt was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Churchill County let Kalaya Downs and Dana Buckmaster run wild. Downs went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Buckmaster went 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI Buckmaster has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Bostynn Wright, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Churchill County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are 12-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
